# Introduction

> Secure email communications by removing metadata from Gmail attachments

## Overview

Okatee is a Chrome extension that removes metadata from email attachments directly within Gmail. It supports all modern and legacy Microsoft Office formats (DOC, DOCX, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX), PDF, and common image types (JPG, PNG).

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, and every Gmail compose window gains an **Attach and Clean** button that strips metadata before sending.
